I don’t personally know all the designers and developers who are cranking out the hundreds of themes on ThemeForest, but I can tell you on thing about them:

They don’t know how to size a font.

Don’t Call It a Blog!

Timing is everything. Reviewing blog themes, designs, and content was a great idea ten years ago. Executing the great idea ten years late? Well… I may need an intervention.

It turns out that when you wait for a decade, things change. Blogs are still around, thankfully, and themes are still being designed. What’s changed is the terminology. Why Our Blog Theme Is So Minimal

For a blog that likes to taste and sample other blog themes, you’d think we’d put a lot of time and energy into our own design. Those who can’t do, teach, right?

Fair point.

Since blog tasting is the name of this gig, I thought it would be fitting for our theme to avoid being a distraction to the content. So you’ll notice that you hardly notice the design of this theme, because we’ve focused on the content we’re actually writing about.

Enjoy.

Which Outbound Links Are Visitors Using To Exit Your Site?

Google Analytics doesn’t automatically track and report on which links people use to leave your site. How lame is that? When I worked for a small agency in Dallas, we had this data at our fingertips because we used log-file based analytics instead of GA. There were other upsides to Google Analytics, of course, but this one out-of-the-box feature made our SEO efforts much more potent.

I hate to break it to you, but you look like you need a break. 🙂

If the idea of a break from blogging doesn’t resonate with you at the core of your being, you don’t have a pulse. Especially if you’ve been doing this full-time for more than a couple years.

Feeling a little claustrophobic? Chained to your blog? Believe it or not, you CAN get away. We all need a break from the norm. Even bloggers deserve vacations, sabbaticals, and moments of solitude. But it takes too much extra work to have posts ready to cover a vacation!

So let your readers write for you. Why should you have to work extra hard before your time off just so you can be too tired to enjoy it?

Unlike most sites you’ll find on Google claiming to review the best wordpress themes of 2017, I’m only going to review themes published since December 2016. But for now, let’s hit those themes that are already published in 2017.

Go ahead and bookmark this page so you can find it again later. I’ll be updating this article frequently.

Five Ways To Monetize Your Blog

You’re going to start a blog and replace your income, right? Of course you are. And I’m going to help you do it.

But first, you gotta have a message and a reason for sharing that message. Without a clear desire, passion, interest, or mission, you’ll share a couple boring journal entries and then abandon your newborn blog just like hundreds of thousands who’ve gone before you.

That’s not you, though, right? You wouldn’t club a baby seal. And you wouldn’t birth a blog just to let it die on the vine.

Since you’re not going to make that same mistake, let’s talk about five ways to monetize a blog so you can start mapping which approach you’re going to tackle first.
